The Company

Ripping LumberWashington Pacific Industries, Inc., ("WPI") incorporated in December 2002, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Paxton International Resources Ltd., a public corporation with several wholly-owned subsidiaries.

While the history of WPI is brief, we do believe in some old fashioned principles: our people are our most valuable asset; being a good corporate citizen; and being environmentally responsible.

The People

We believe the success of any company can usually be traced back to the quality of its employees, especially in the case of a relatively new company. At WPI we have outstandingManufacturing individuals throughout the organization. They are skillful, dedicated, hard working and industrious. They are the key to our success!

As our employees are our most valuable asset, the health and safety of our people is our first priority and is promoted from the yard operations, to the saw line, up to the management levels. We continually strive to have the safest work sites of any forestry company in North America. We take great care to prevent work related accidents and diseases by ensuring all work sites maintain effective health and safety practices. Safe work practices and procedures are continually monitored and promoted to ensure the safety of our most valuable asset -- our employees.

The Community

WPI believes in being a good corporate citizen. Not only do we strive to provide good, stable employment for local citizens but also to establish good working relations with other local companies and the community in general.

The Environment

Entiat Facility YardAs a user of a natural resource, we are well aware of the need to protect the environment. This is also part of being a good corporate citizen. At WPI we promote the use of wood products as a good choice for the environment because wood products are both a renewable resource and a recyclable one.

As well, we seek to minimize the environmental impact of our operations, prevent pollution and strive for continuous improvement of our environmental performance. We operate in compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to the environment and regularly review our practices and procedures to monitor and report on environmental performance.
